Easy to use, lightweight but built like a tank. Light & tank shouldn’t be together
The greatest invention ever made! Bar none!!!I need to buy another house so I will have a reason to buy another Oreck vacuum.

Same as an XL 21 with ncontempo look
Read all the reviews and still bought it. My XL 21 was overhauled for use elsewhere. This one is about the same thing. The maneuverability seems clumsier with the new one. I thought they would make it just as nimble as the Magnesium model which was like pushing a feather……but not even close. In fact, this is a pita when trying force the unit to swivel compared to the Magnesium model. The Magnesium though really had lame suction compared to this one. And when the reviews mention how loud it is, they are not exaggerating….this thing like the XL21 is loud! Possibly the suction is a little better than the XL21, but more likely because its new with unworn parts and clean less resistant vaccum chute internals and possibly using a new empty bag. Weight is a few ounces heavier than XL21 no matter what the specs say. Better contemporary, less institutional look, otherwise no changes justifying a hopeful upgrade..

Oreck Elevate Conquer – a great purchase
We’ve had our Oreck Elevate Conquer upright vacuum for a couple of months. It’s our first Oreck vacuum. Oh my, what a great vacuum. It’s so easy to use, light weight, and has great suction power. I especially like quickly moving from hardwood floors/tile to carpet with just a flick of a switch at the thumb to change the suction power. Our previous vacuum was a Kenmore canister, which worked very well for 10 years, but it was a hassle dragging the canister around, and changing the head for carpet/hardwood floors. The only issues associated with the Oreck is that it has no attachments, and isn’t practical with stairs. So, we also purchased a Eureka Mighty Mite that gives us the attachments for cleaning high areas and stairs. The Oreck Elevate Conquer is not inexpensive but well worth the price. It’s a great vacuum.

Ease of operation
I love Oreck. Light, great performance and this is my third. I have others but this is best for my back issues.

Oreck isn’t what it used to be.
I have owned a couple Oreck vacs over the years and the quality of this one is not good. A small chunk of plastic broke off at base and broke suction seal. I would expect better construction from a vacuum in this price range.

Nice looks but still very loud.
I have purchased several Oreck vacuums recently from Amazon. This one was the most expensive, but claimed to have a low 49 db sound level. That was my main reason for selecting this expensive model. All others run at around 80 db, or higher. Loud by any standard. This one is actually the same volume as the others, or at least very close. The 49 db claim is a lie even at the hard floor lower speed it is still above 75 db.It does have good suction, and it looks more refined than the lower priced Orecks like the commercial XLs. But, those cheaper models seem more durable, and simpler. For example changing a belt on this model requires removal of 7 T20 screws. Three of them are deep in the plastic housing and can only be reached with a dedicated T20 driver. My driver accommodates multiple sizes and is too wide to fit into the deep holes to reach those screws. So, I need to buy a dedicated T20 driver specifically to change the belt on this model.Changing a belt on the XL models requires removal of just one Philips head screw. Super easy! The swivel feature does not work well. Too tight. It may loosen over time with use. Lights work well, but flickers a bit. This model does not seem worth the high price, unless one just likes its looks.
